Lane is an associate with a focused practice in Family Law. His work regularly involves complex parenting, support, and property disputes, where he provides practical, strategic advice to help clients navigate difficult family transitions.

Lane has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, including the Alberta Court of Justice, the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, and the Alberta Court of Appeal. He maintains a growing appellate practice and has been involved in numerous appeals before the Alberta Court of Appeal, both independently and as part of appellate teams, gaining valuable experience and mentorship working alongside Andy Hayher KC and The Honourable Peter Martin KC.

Lane has significant hands-on litigation experience, with trial experience both as second chair and as lead counsel, including matters that have resulted in reported written decisions. He also regularly represents clients in alternative dispute resolution processes, having conducted numerous arbitrations as lead counsel while routinely attending mediations with clients to resolve disputes outside the courtroom when appropriate.

In 2026, Lane was named a Rising Star in Divorce and Family Law by Doyle’s Guide, a recognition awarded to lawyers identified by their peers as the future leading lawyers of the family law bar in Alberta.

In addition to courtroom advocacy, he has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution and regularly represents clients in mediation and arbitration.

His practice combines practical problem-solving with strong courtroom advocacy, allowing him to guide clients effectively through both negotiated resolutions and contested proceedings.

A former college baseball player, Lane brings the same focus and discipline from the field to his legal practice. He holds a Bachelor of Management with Great Distinction from the University of Lethbridge.
